Did anyone else have an April that would not end? My April started fairly quickly and then the pace fizzled out by the last two weeks. The first two weeks gave me time to plan events and the last two weeks gave me time to look forward to the events. Here is a quick list of things/ideas I learned in April 2024.
One. Opening Day. Even though there isn’t a professional team in Wyoming, that will not stop me from attending Opening Day. On a whim, I went to the Colorado Rockies Opening Day. It was so much fun and I witnessed a walk-off grand slam! Because of the great experience, I want to go every year.
Two. Discipline with myself. If I am too tired to do my whole night-time routine or move, I think about the woman I want to be. That woman is disciplined and dependable. Usually, that will snap me awake to do my night-time routine or move my body. For others to depend on you, you must be able to depend on yourself.
Three. Sticking to goals. This sort of matches number two. At the beginning of the month, I write out my budget and any short-term goals I want to accomplish in that month. Every month I write a reading goal of “x books read.” Sometimes, I want to adjust that goal if I am not on pace. However, changing the goal to meet my current self will not benefit my future self. If I kept changing my goals to fit my comfort zone, my comfort zone would never increase. I would simply stay where I have always been.
Lesson learned: Taking care of yourself first before others is okay.
What is one thing you learned about yourself in April?
